LUAP’s Paintings occupy a space between psychological realism and abstraction. Built from imagery developed through his own Photography, the works take recognisable figures, landscapes and environments and push them beyond documentation into something more ambiguous, emotional and internally charged.
The Pink Bear appears as a recurring presence within these compositions, at times dominant, at times almost absorbed by the surrounding space. Through scale, surface and shifting degrees of clarity, the Paintings explore memory, identity, vulnerability and the instability of perception.
Often monumental in scale, the works are less concerned with reproducing a moment than with transforming it. Image, gesture and atmosphere are allowed to fracture and reform, creating Paintings that feel simultaneously precise, dreamlike and psychologically unsettled.

The Pink Bear received so much love at Home House, they commissioned me to paint it directly onto the Georgian townhouses walls in elegant Portman Square.
In summer 2014 I was introduced to the eclectic and luxuriously opulent private members club, Home House. The grandeur of the building blew me away. Art adorned the walls of each completely unique room, ranging in styles from 18th century splendour to 21st century avant-garde.
