LUAP’s Fine Art practice is rooted in the tension between the recognisable and the psychologically charged. Through The Pink Bear, familiar imagery is displaced into unexpected contexts, allowing ideas around memory, identity, isolation, vulnerability and connection to emerge without becoming overly literal.
The work moves between intimate and monumental scale, with Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Installation each offering a different way of exploring the same emotional territory. Rather than separating these disciplines, LUAP allows them to inform one another, creating a body of work that shifts between image, object, environment and experience.
At its core, the practice is concerned with how personal experience can be transformed into something shared, using surreal imagery, material presence and a recurring symbolic figure to create work that is both visually immediate and emotionally unresolved.

Pink Bear is getting his own show. The Andipa Gallery in Knightsbridge - which is well known for it’s huge collection of Banksy’s - will be showing a curated collection of my paintings, prints and photography in July.
I was really delighted with my 2013 Decadence print series as it allowed me to experiment rapidly with colour. I have decided to revisit this project and create a series of 30 new art works for 2016, but this time I want to make the application of the wallpaper pattern unique. So no printing!
