The Unconscious Therapy
The Unconscious Therapy brings together Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Installation to explore the relationship between nature, memory and psychological experience.
The project developed from LUAP’s interest in the small, often unconscious actions that can restore a sense of balance, alongside the ways memory and lived experience shift within the mind. Natural environments recur throughout the work as spaces in which internal states can be reflected, distorted or reimagined.
Forests, mountains, flowers, water and reflections move between beauty, disorientation and renewal. The Pink Bear appears throughout these landscapes as a recurring presence, while the exhibition extended those ideas into the physical gallery space through an immersive Installation in which an entire room was wrapped in more than 150 metres of pink fur.
Across the project, landscape and interior experience begin to overlap, allowing nature, memory and psychological space to exist within the same visual language.
