LUAP presents work from Decadence at DSTRKT in London, extending the series into the club’s interior and creating a site-specific wall work at Yaneff.
LUAP has begun a year-long collaboration with DSTRKT in London, presenting work from Decadence across the venue and creating a one-off installation at Yaneff.
The recurring wallpaper pattern from Decadence has been incorporated into the interior of the VIP lounge. Originally reconstructed from the wallpaper in LUAP’s childhood living room, the pattern is now placed within a very different environment, continuing the series’ movement between artwork and interior space.
At Yaneff, LUAP also created a new work directly onto the wall using posters and spray paint. Made specifically for the space, the piece sits alongside works from Decadence and introduces another way of working with the imagery and surfaces running through the series.
The Pink Bear also makes an appearance throughout the project. LUAP describes the figure as an alter ego, a recurring presence that has become increasingly central to his work.
The installation at DSTRKT continues throughout the year, with Decadence developing across Painting, printed surfaces and work made directly within the space.
