LUAP appears on the cover of ’Cene Magazine for an interview exploring The Pink Bear, travel and storytelling, returning to Canterbury where he studied Fine Art before developing the work that would shape his international practice.
The interview moves between the practical realities of making work in remote landscapes and the way those experiences are translated back into Painting. LUAP discusses travelling with around 20 kg of camera and survival equipment, working opportunistically in places such as Mongolia and Chile, and using Photography as the starting point for images that can carry a wider narrative. He also explains why The Pink Bear remains deliberately expressionless, leaving space for viewers to bring their own emotions to the work.
