Ham & High

LUAP features in Ham & High’s coverage of Open Cells at the former Hampstead Police Station, where The Pink Bear is placed inside one of the building’s original cells to explore mental health, isolation and psychological confinement.

The article describes the Installation as a reflection on “caged human potential” and the ways feelings of helplessness, loss or past trauma can become forms of self-incarceration. LUAP also traces The Pink Bear back to a memory recovered during Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, describing how the figure evolved from something lost and seeking connection into an alter ego that increasingly mirrored his own growing confidence.
