I’m Glad I Found You
I’m Glad I Found You developed during a period when familiar forms of connection were being disrupted, prompting LUAP to look more closely at his own relationship with other people, place, memory and solitude.
The works move between connection and isolation without treating them as simple opposites. Being physically close does not always create intimacy, just as distance does not necessarily remove it. Memories of people and places can remain intensely present, while solitude can reveal both the comfort of being alone and the need to feel connected to something beyond ourselves.
Through Painting, remembered experiences are reconstructed and changed, allowing past and present to occupy the same psychological space. The series reflects on the relationships and encounters that shape us, and on the fragile, sometimes unexpected ways a sense of connection can be found, lost and found again.
