I really wanted to get involved with this great project as I lost my Nanna to breast cancer. I injected a huge amount of energy into this project, with the hope that large amounts of money will be raised to help others.
Helmets for Heroines is a motorcycle event raising awareness of breast cancer and promoting female riders through art and design.
"In the male dominated motorcycle world, The Gabriel Hounds want to celebrate women on two wheels. In the process, we are going to be showcasing some beautiful, iconic and unique helmets. Most importantly, to raise a healthy sum to help fight breast cancer and offer care.
Through an auction of customised helmets created by emerging and established female and male artists, Helmets For Heroines will use proceeds to fund support for Breast Cancer Care, a UK based charity."
It's always great getting involved with like minded people who want to raise money for charity through creativity.
Below you can see the making of the helmet artwork, which is inspired by my 'Decadence' series in a short time lapse video. And to really show off the helmet in all it's glory I enlised the help of my friend Martina to model the helmet, who is dressed in clothes by Chika Wear. A great shoot for a great cause.
My favourite shot of the day on Helmets for Heroines shoot.
My finished helmet "Ethereal Blossom" will be auctioned on the 24th April 2014 at Karmarama
