Featured Project On John Jones Website

The outdoor framing for Causality was a first for fine art framers John Jones so they decided to do a featured article about the project.

This is what they wrote....

PAUL ROBINSON - OUTDOOR FRAME

Our design team were delighted to be approached by contemporary artist Paul Robinson to produce our first ever frame purpose built to be displayed outdoors! This unique challenge was designed to house a metallic artwork entitled ‘Causality’, part of the artist’s ‘Decadence’ series which ‘examines and celebrates corroded patterned surfaces’.

Created from solid dark oak, the wooden frame has been stained using a traditional outdoor stain material which is weather-proof and will allow the colour and finish of the frame to age naturally over time. The profile of the design has been cut in our bespoke wood mill to include a special water channel, allowing rain water to filter harmlessly away from the artwork. All of the screws and joining techniques utilised in this project have been selected to resist deterioration in adverse temperatures and weather conditions, resulting in a sturdy presentation solution which is also aesthetically suitable for display in a gallery environment.

This piece was installed onto a solid brick wall by the John Jones artwork installation team. Securing a piece of this size and weight to an uneven wall surface of this nature requires the skills and equipment of trained professionals.
